Firts attempt at the Stella and Tide Mystery Bag with the 4 phase espress experiement profile. It had a flavour that was off. I think bitter , but hard to tell
From a shot dynamice point of view the shot ran too fast so it needs to be ground finer plus a little tweak to the profile: The pressurise phase was set to stop when over target pressure, but the machine controlled it perfectly and never went over, so the stop condition needs to be a little lower. The target pressure (Say 9bar) needs to be in the "Stop When" filed and the Target pressure needs to be higher.
Next shot grind at 1.3.4 and see what happens.
Jennifer bought me this as a gift from Stella and Tide in Taiwan. Unfortunately we don't know anything about it including the roast date. It looks like a medium to medium dark roast. The bean is quite small and could be a peaberry. It shatters quite easily and breaks inot small pieces suggesting a lot of fines will be produiced when grinding. Its got an interesting aroma, maybe slightly foral. Can't quite place it. Will give more once I've dialled it in!
