Well balanced and a bit boring, though it tasted great in the shot glass. I didn’t use a bottom paper filter, but it still had that slight cardboardy after taste. Which is a shame as my tendency would be to make it a bit more bitter to balance the milk. Maybe this is as good as it gets.
I increased steam temperature in the Gaggimate settings to 140 which definitely helped. I might go higher, but it does heat the milk very quickly so prep needs to be on point. also, theres a max offset plus steam temp setting of 170C, so 140 is probably the limit as there’s often a significant over run on the steam temperature.
Second time I have had this winderful coffee. Although it has a night plum like fruitiness I prefer to make a more intense, syrupy and slihghtly bitter shot that has really nice mouth feel and balances milk perfectly. Grinding somewhere in teh low end of1.3.x
