Well that came out smooth - not criminally smmoth, but smooth. there is a slight lingering bitterness that needs some final tweaking, otherwise it’s probably good as a reasonably proced coffee shop 3 way blend can be.
One thing was that the coffee did NOT get better toward the bottom of the cup and yesterdays berries in the final sip has gone. I guess this is the reduced acidity.
From the flow point of view it was much better and maxed out at less than 2ml/s wight flow, though the flow limiter still cuts in eartly. I’m guessing it has some kind of predictive model and the flow rater would have gone ovet if it hadn’t dropped pressure to 5.5 bar. ANyway, talking of pressure leaves me thinking that maybe the answer for this shot is to bring down pressure slightly more.
NOte one flaw. I did not tap the blind shaker lid before moving to portafilter and tehre was quite a lot there. Low humifity and high static today. Anyway, I doubt it was more than .5g and probably less. However, it could have shifter things slightly.
Initial impression (from a poorly dialled shot) is that this is plain old coffee shop stuff. I need to dial it in better before making a final decision.
