| Brew: Note | [prep] overall clean and well tamped. A little more than expected stuck to the underside of the grinder even with RDT. [pull] I am using a guide to follow a 6 second 2 bar pre infusion and then quick ramp up to 6 bars for 25 - 35 seconds. Target of 36g which I just slightly went over. The resistance was just about right for a 30-ish seconds shot (including pre infusion). [milk] Good texture. I am not going to over focus on the art while I dial in the shots for espresso and cappuccino taste and balance with milk. [art] not too bad. A little more of a dump than a good flow but again I am going to just keep up for practice and refocus at a later date. [taste] with a coarser ground and a pseudo flat 6 bar shot the espresso was definitely more alive than yesterday. Some nice acidity and liveliness. Not too much on the sweet spectrum with an assertive bit but less bitterness than yesterday. Still not super balanced with the milk in a 6oz cappuccino. |
