Shot by Brendan FitzPatrick
Extraction notes: This shot pulled for 55.4 seconds total yielding 41.1g of liquid espresso. I attempted to follow a standard Lelit Bianca pressure profile for this shot. I held at 3 bar of pressure to properly soak the puck during preinfusion, held that for 2 seconds before pushing immediately to 9 bar of pressure. Holding at or as near to 9 bar of pressure as I could for the whole of the shot and slowly tapering off through the tail end of the shot. The extraction flow averaged 1.22g/s. This extraction pulled tight with a single main flow, there was no jetting and I was able to build to pressure immediately.
Tasting notes: This was a very tasty shot, with big tart acidity upon sipping that quickly rounded off into a syrupy warm coffee taste. There’s an awesome mollywhop of tangerine aftertaste that hits you at the back of the sinuses. The strong crema structure definition had more tartness too it, but once mixed into the shot it really allowed the whole flavor profile to bloom.
