In 1929, the estate made history by becoming the country's first ever exporter of premium coffee to Europe. Harnessing his engineering expertise, Mönniche invented the revolutionary "Sifón"—a gravity-powered siphoning tank designed on this very farm to flawlessly separate high-density, peak-ripe cherries from defectives—permanently elevating global wet-mill processing standards. Spanning five distinct micro-farms within the Alto Quiel volcanic belt, the estate features elite cultivation plots nesting at extreme elevations between 1,500 and 2,000 meters above sea level. Nurtured by nutrient-rich black volcanic soil and the region's signature Bajareque (a cool, fine mountain mist), the estate's slow-ripening Geisha, Pacamara, and exotic SL28 varietals unlock extraordinary structural complexity. These exceptional lots are celebrated worldwide for their explosive floral aromas, crisp, vibrant citric acidity, and remarkably clean, tea-like finishes that consistently earn podium placements in the prestigious Best of Panama (BOP) competitions. |
