| Brew: Note | [prep] since this was from frozen the grind a prep was so much cleaner and uniform. Well behaved with RDT and WDT without many stray grounds. Good tap and tamp very little lost coffee. [pull] a little more stiff on the lever. Frozen appears to result in a bit more uniform grind and resistance. I need to decide if I am going for a traditional shot or a sweeter no nuanced one. This was more of a traditional lever shot without the full bloom or bigger spring. [milk] went back to full steaming protocol and while it was a fraction over aerated at 3 chirps the results were good texture after a tad more grooming. [art] not bad. A pretty average effort although a lot of my recent ones have been much worse. [taste] somewhat bitter and unbalanced. The milk was largely overwhelmed. I hate to say it but it almost feels like I killed the living breathing bean by freezing it. All the acidity is gone and I have a more traditional (though not dialed in) Italian espresso. |
