| Brew: Note | [goal] find grind size and test typical variables for new bean (18g, 1:2, 25 - 35 seconds, 6 bar spring). [prep] typical medium roast density ground uniformly and responded well to RDT, WDT, and tap-less tamp. [pull] too restricted. Maxed out at just over 1g/s. Landed only 28g in almost 40 seconds. Talk about exit straggles for this situation. Though I definitely saved this shot by cutting it short. [milk] nicely controlled with a slight over aeration. Lots of time to spin before landing at temp of 62c. [art] not the best. I wasn’t trying all that hard and ended up with heart too far up in the cup and with a cloudy integration. [taste] creamy with a touch of sweetness but also some sourness. Not a lot of bitterness or kick. Possibly a hint of gassiness. Definitely go coarser for tomorrow. |
